Where can I get the right paint color?
Honda no longer sells any of the original paint for these bikes. There's been considerable discussion on the mailing list about good matches that are available in spray-can form at most parts stores. Check the list archives for this information. CTs came in yellow, orange and red, but the shades went by a variety of names from Honda.
Another alternative is to take a paint chip to an automotive finishes dealer, where they can mix the shade to match. The best source of un-weathered original paint on the bike will be behind the air cleaner or around the upper part of the battery box. Basically anywhere that rarely or never saw the light of day. In an extreme situation, unbolt the rear carrier deck; under the mounts will be original paint unless some previous owner was incredibly thorough about repainting the bike. Get a chip off that area and take it in to be matched.
