Where's my serial number?
The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on most bikes sold in the USA is located on a plate riveted to the head joint of the forks. Turn the handlebars to the left and look for the plate. This is legally the bike's "serial number." It will also, on 1970 and later models, tell you the date of manufacture. However, there are some mechanical parts for which you need the engine number.

The engine number is located here:

On the left side of the bike, right above your left ankle. The VIN roughly corresponds to the bike's "K" series, such that a CT90-400001 would be a K3, CT90-300001 is a K2, CT90-200001 is a K1, and anything prior to 200000 is a K0 or "early" bike. The engine numbering is on a different series.

CT-110 numbering is different, but the stamping is in the same place.

Your engine number may differ from your frame number.
