| In the next picture, notice that there are several important differences between this machine and the later engines, and also some important differences between this and the earlier CT-200 pushrod engine. This one is clearly an overhead cam, but the intake and carb is quite different than the later bikes, pointing forward and up rather than backward. Notice also that the front sprocket is exposed, which could be a hazard. On later versions, the engine and transmission side cover was modified to extend back over the front sprocket. The splash pan under the engine is also somewhat different than on the later bikes, in that it's a solid panel whereas the later ones had some holes in there to access things like the cam-chain tensioner and the oil drain. Lastly, note that the pegs are just plain steel, with no rubber pegs on them. | |
