Views of a pretty clean 1966 that sold on eBay in the summer of 2000.

1966 CT90 from left frontAn issue that keeps getting discussed was whether the early bikes had white side covers or body-colored side covers. This bike clearly has yellow covers on a yellow frame. Notice also the large dual rear sprocket, the small, painted rear rack, the small headlight and taillight and the air intake on the downtube. This bike should have had a plastic cover wrapped around the downtube, but it's missing.

In the next picture, notice that there are several important differences between this machine and the later engines, and also some important differences between this and the earlier CT-200 pushrod engine. This one is clearly an overhead cam, but the intake and carb is quite different than the later bikes, pointing forward and up rather than backward. Notice also that the front sprocket is exposed, which could be a hazard. On later versions, the engine and transmission side cover was modified to extend back over the front sprocket. The splash pan under the engine is also somewhat different than on the later bikes, in that it's a solid panel whereas the later ones had some holes in there to access things like the cam-chain tensioner and the oil drain. Lastly, note that the pegs are just plain steel, with no rubber pegs on them.
