1973 Orange CT-90 K5

This is a very clean 1973 K5. There are many cosmetic differences between this and earlier bikes. For the first time, we see the optional extra fuel canister on the left rear. The buddy seat was still an option. Notice now that there are turn signals integrated into the handlebars and the taillight bracket in the back. Every US-bound CT shipped with turn signals from here on out.

The mudflaps are gone, the logos are again different, and someone replaced this seat with a later style. A little-noticed item is a small reflector on the taillight, just above the taillight lens itself. These are very uncommon. The carb still has a compensating pullout. There's a small sticker just in front of the big "Trail 90" logo that you might be able to see. It carries instructions on the use of the carb pullout. There's also a sticker on the chain guard explaining the use of the low/high subtransmission. The sticker on the upper rear fender near the shock absorber explains how to clean and care for the air filter element.
